Montreal Impact & Suputo Stadium
Major League Soccer (Mar–Oct)
Even in the land of ice hockey, the multicultural make-up of Montreal assures that its local pro football team Montreal Impact will always have a good following.
Most games are played at Saputo Stadium just across the street from the Montreal Botanical Garden and adjacent to the Montreal Biodome and Olympic Park.
Formed in 2012, Montreal Impact play in the Major League Soccer (MLS), at the highest level of North American game. Though they've tended to finish mid-table in recent seasons they have had some international success against South American sides.
The team fields a fairly balanced mixed of domestic and international talent and draws crowds of around 20,000 fans.
