HoMa

[Group 2]-Montréal 10-10-11 39 Hochelaga_Montréal 10-10-11 44 Hochelaga-6 images

The Hochelaga-Maisonneuve district, sometimes nicknamed HoMa, is mostly working-class, residential and a bit scrappy, but made strides in the 1970s when many facilities for the 1976 Montreal Olympics were built here. And as one of the more affordable spots in central Montreal HoMa’s also being slowly gentrified with hip restaurants and bars slowly moving in.

With good Metro access and the presence of Maisonneuve Market, an excellent covered indoor grocery and farmers' market, you could certainly do much worse than ending up in Airbnb accommodation here.

The Montreal Tower

The Olympic & Maisonneuve Parks

Otherwise the main reason to visit the district is for the concrete jungle of Montreal’s Olympic Park and the huge adjoining Maisonneuve park on its northwest side.
