Fishing

Learning from the Masters

Fishing is an important sport during specific seasons along the East Coast. Serious sport anglers choose one of the piers where bait and tackle shops are also available.

Less serious fishing takes place while standing in the surf, but it's important to keep away from swimming areas.

State laws govern fishing regulations, and fees vary at the different piers. Also, hours vary according to the time of year. Visitors interested in fishing should check with the pier which will be chosen simply by the north, central or south part of the Grand Strand which is preferred for the varying family atmosphere.
