Edinburgh Pubs & Bars

Sherlock Holmes Restaurant

New Town pubs & bars

Edinburgh has no end of pubs, with many central atmospheric ones dotting Rose Street (Princes Street's back alley) in the New Town.

Meanwhile, a block uphill, George Street is lined with the city's most fashionable bars. Very central, but hidden on a side street opposite the Balmoral Hotel, is Café Royal, a stylish Victorian pub.

Old Town pubs & bars

In the Old Town some not-too-touristy pubs dot the Royal Mile, while Edinburgh's clubland lies on the Cowgate below.

The tiny Royal Oak is a great choice for live folk music in the small hours.

Many other Edinburgh cafes, pubs and restaurants are covered in the free Edinburgh's Best app: download it via TouchScreenTravels.com.
