Cafes

Coffee at Project Coffee

Ideal for just a drink, but often serving food too, Scotland's cafes and pubs & bars tend to live in overlapping categories.

Particularly in rural areas most hotels and pubs double as cafes, so don't be shy about wandering into either to just order a coffee.

Museums, castles & luxury hotels

Most large museums and virtually every castle and stately home in Scotland has a good cafe, so visitors should never have to go without a cup of tea for long.

Luxury hotels shouldn't be overlooked either; many serve excellent high-teas to non-guests and allow you to linger in stately rooms afterwards. A very pleasant rainy-day option.

App cafes

Cafes mentioned in this app have been listed below – but it's obviously nothing like a full list: Scotland has thousands of cafes and any good-sized town will have a choice.
