Fairmont Hot Springs Resort
Extensive family resort with loads to do
The rambling Fairmont Hot Springs Resort spills over the Columbia River’s broad flood plain with golf courses, and climbs into its craggy snow-capped backdrop with a little ski resort.
It’s a reasonably luxurious place, though the prices of its cheapest rooms aren’t extravagant, and its glut of amenities include several restaurants and so make it a fantastic base for a family holiday.
Hot springs
Most of all the resort is famous for its bubbling, sweet-smelling hot springs (daily 8am–10pm; $15; check latest hours $ rates.). Split into pools for diving, laps, kids and soaking, they have lured bathers here from far and wide since 1922.
The springs also lend their name to a small settlement beside the resort and Hwy-93: also called Fairmont Hot Springs and with a handful of restaurants and a supermarket.
