Winter: Dec, Jan & Feb

2010_12_250018

This is definitely coldest part of the year. Days can be short, and nights long especially in December and January.

Frost and snow is always possible, likewise periods of heavy rain. There can also be lots of crisp, sunny days perfect for walking and outdoor exploration.

Dress warmly, and have waterproof clothing.

Events

Seasonally, there are always Christmas related events availble, as well as illuminated night time trails in December at historic houses and estates like Sandringham and Anglesey Abbey.

Heritage steam railways such as the North Norfolk Railway and the Nene Valley Railway run Santa specials and Mince Pie specials.

Most attractions close for the winter, reopening for a short time in February for due to half term holidays.
