Hippodrome Circus
Enjoy circus & water spectacular shows
The Hippodrome circus is worth a visit. Built in 1903, it is one of only three purpose built circus buildings in the world.
This is Britain’s last remaining Victorian circus building possessing an indoor ring. Uniquely, the ring can sink and be filled with water deep enough for swimmers to use during the water spectacles that form part of every circus performance.
Throughout the summer and over Christmas there are stunning circus performances involving artistes from all over the world, the rest of the year there are all kinds of shows on offer.
Booking in advance recommended.
Parking available in nearby streets and along the promenade. Nearest train station is about 30 minutes walk.
