Watermark
Like dining on a luxury yacht (l,d; $$)
The directionally challenged should have no problem finding this airy restaurant offering contemporary Continental cuisine: Watermark is located right above the Star Ferry pier in Central. Best of all, it’s enclosed by glass panels that can be closed in inclement weather or pushed open on fine days, affording splendid views of the harbor, boats chugging past, and Kowloon.
The menu doesn’t try to do it all, but rather lists a few selections of fresh seafood (roast halibut and fish pie are specialties) and other dishes, but the emphasis is clearly on steaks, aged on the premises and ranging from a 10-ounce rib eye to prime tenderloin. A nighttime bonus to dining here: ringside seats to the nightly Symphony of Lights. I find this restaurant wonderfully romantic.
