Culture

Chicken feet. Hong Kong.

Hong Kong's many temples and museums provide a great way to appreciate not only its history but also its culture. But to Westerners in particular, the contemporary culture is every bit as intriguing. Wong Tai Sin with its many fortune tellers and crowds, for example, is a great insight into local life, while the Hong Kong Heritage Museum sheds light on many cultural traditions such as Chinese opera and festivals.

Other great places to get an instructive dose of culture are Hong Kong's markets as well as its parks & gardens, which are particularly good for people-watching. Or you might take a boat trip on an Aberdeen Sampan to see something of Hong Kong's traditional fisherfolk.
