Central Medina Shopping

A Day Shopping in Marrakech 9

The area around the Jemaa el Fna isn't exactly shopping central, and most of the stalls around here mostly sell tourist tat.

For fruit and veg, there's a little municipal market Souk Jemaa el Fna on the east side of the square, and there's a lively olive souk, Souk Ableuh just off the square's northeastern corner.

Not far away, just up Avenue Mohammed V is the official craft centre, the Ensemble Artisanal, and in the workaday little streets south of the Jemaa, you'll find the unpretentious cookware and pottery shop Hermane Rahal.
