Metro & Bus

Blue train (2)

As the design and décor in most of its stations suggests Montreal’s subway system – the Metro – dates back to 1967 when it formed part of the city's preparations for Expo '67.

Generally safe and rarely crowded it's an efficient and user-friendly set up run by STM: four color-coded lines — green, orange, blue, yellow — cover much of central Montreal and even join selected suburbs.

It's main central hub is Berri-UQAM.

The Green & Yellow Metro Lines

From Berri-UQAM, the Green Metro Line quickly heads north to attractions around The Olympic Park in HoMa; while the short Yellow Line connects the island attractions of Parc Jean Drapeau with the centre.

Meanwhile taking it south will whisk you to several main Downtown stations, many hubs for the Underground City
