Seaplane Harbour in Tallinn /North-Estonia

As you might expect from a society that places great emphasis on science and technology, Estonia offers a surfeit of attractions based on hands-on educative experiences, ranging from the resolutely STEM-based AHHAA Science Centre in Tartu to the more traditional but still engrossingly inter-active The Seaplane Harbour maritime museum in Tallinn.

Much of Estonia’s traditional museum content is family-friendly, including the Tartu Toy Museum and Haapsalu’s tribute to childrens’ book illustration Ilon’s Wonderland.

Estonia’s natural wilderness are perfect for family holidays, with Lahemaa National Park, together with the islands of Hiiumaa and Saaremaa, offering a combination of beach holidays, educative nature trails, wild animals, windmills and bags of healthy fresh air.
