Spencer County

From Abraham Lincoln who spent his formative years from ages seven to 21 living here to the world’s best wooden roller coasters at Holiday World and Splashin’ Safari, Spencer County has it all including a town called Santa Claus.

Visit the Lincoln Boyhood National Memorial, experience the Lincoln’s world at the Lincoln Pioneer Village in Rockport, celebrate all things Santa in Santa Claus, Indiana, and take a tour of St. Meinrad, one of only two archabbeys in the U.S. The other is located in Ferdinand in Dubois County Indiana just up the road. Both look like European castles transplanted to American soil.

Stop at Santa’s Candy Castle for hot chocolate, confections, and to write a letter to Santa.
