Northern Medina Sights

The northern Medina's main sights are around Place Ben Youssef, most importantly the Ben Youssef Medersa.

The nearby Almoravid Koubba is the only surviving building created by the city's founders.

Other attractions tend to be clustered around Place Ben Youssef, with the notable exception of various parts of the City Walls which lie on the edge of the Medina.

Museums

The Northern Medina also has some interesting museums, often in wonderful old palaces:

the Marrakesh Museum, a nineteenth-century mansion with a small exhibition of items
the Musée des Confluences housing temporary exhibitions in the splendid Dar el Bacha palace
the Maison de la Photographie, featuring old photographs of Marrakesh.
the Orientalist Museum, where you can see some great old paintings of Marrakesh by European artists
