Outdoors

Parc Angrignon

By the standards of any city, never mind one that's snow-bound for several months, Montreal is an outdoorsy place.

Parks

Mount Royal Park always seems to be buzzing with walkers, cyclists, skiers and skaters, while the beaches and trails of Parc Jean Drapeau are almost as busy.

Meanwhile, many of the more minor parks like Parc La Fontaine see a constant stream of picnickers.

Gardens

For formal gardens the key address is the Montreal Botanical Garden though the Floralies Gardens are more manageable and free.

Boats & Bikes

Boating is also popular, with plenty of rentals, cruises and even jet boat rides available from The Old Port.
