Families with children of any age will find plenty of attractions and activities to fill vacation days. And there's a myriad of shopping, dining and entertainment opportunities too.

Here are some ideas of what you might do throughout the day.

Mornings

• Beach time (an hour each morning). Avoid sunburn with short stays and plenty of sunscreen or umbrella time.

• Oceanfront Boardwalk (an hour each day). Take a scenic stroll along the Atlantic Ocean. Browse shops, restaurants and activities along the way. A family stays busy with arcades, boutiques and souvenirs. Also, enjoy people watching. Stop to take photos to make your friends back home jealous.

• Putt Putt (an hour anytime). Twelve miniature golf courses are within Myrtle Beach. Another 50 are throughout the area. Expect a bubbling volcano, a crashed airplane, a pirate ship or jungle animals. Spot these on any short drive off the immediate beach front.
