The Minster In-2-Hours
York's Greatest Building from every angle
A visit to the spectacular York Minster cathedral can be an overwhelming experience, especially if you try to take it in all in one go. After all, it took over 250 years to build, and restoration has been almost non-stop since.
The price of admission includes a guided tour in a group, but if you'd rather do it at your own pace, then follow this itinerary round the main features of the building.
Start with a walk round the York Minster Exterior, then click on each feature in turn (a link at the end of each description leads to the next Itinerary Stage to make this easy).
ITINERARY STAGE 1
Visitors normally enter at the South door. Turn left and walk to the main west door. Stand next to the windows to the large West door to view THE NAVE.
