North Devon & Exmoor
Parts of North Devon feel wilder and less visited than their south Devon counterparts. The shore here captures some of Britain’’s best surf and features Croyde Beach and the long dune–backed shore of Saunton Sands.
Add exquisite Hartland Abbey, bewitching Broomhill Sculpture Gardens, the effortlessly cool British Surfing Museum and pretty Clovelly village, and you have plenty of reasons to head this way.
North Devon also adjoins Exmoor National Park – which is partly in Devon but largely in Somerset. This offers expansive moorland, dramatic cliffs, photogenic Lynton & Lynmouth and free-roaming ponies and deer.
