Old Town Sights
As the oldest part of Edinburgh the Old Town understandably has the most sights. Both characteristics make it the obvious place to start sightseeing in the city, and first-timers might find it useful to follow the Old Town-in-a-Day itinerary.
The two key sights are Edinburgh Castle and the National Museum of Scotland, but the Old Town is packed with small and intriguing spots. Many are historic and dot the Royal Mile, which leads down to key attractions in the Holyrood neighbourhood, including The Scottish Parliament.
