Western France
Western France for the purposes of this Guide is essentially the new Region of Nouvelle Aquitaine. Created 2016 with such a tremendous variety of superb destinations from fine beaches to mighty rivers and from fascinating cities to beautiful villages as well as many fine man-made and natural attractions including the fascinating Futuroscope, the Bassin d’Arcachon and the Prehistoric Cave Dwellings of the Dordogne.
In fact Nouvelle Aquitaine encompasses three old regions and as a result is very large in terms of land area. So for the convenience of app users, I have divided this category into four sub-regions as follows: Dordogne, Limousin-Poitou-Charente, Gironde and Pays Basque
Top towns and cities are: Angoulgeme, Bordeaux, Périgueux, Bergerac, Bayonne, Limoges, La Rochelle, Sarlat and Poitiers.
