Also referred to as Macedonia, Northern Greece’s geography ranges from a long coastline, flat plains to majestic mountains.
The capital of the area is Thessaloniki, Greece’s second largest city, with the beautiful Halkidiki peninsular offering gorgeous beaches, a great summer destination.
The beautiful coastal city of Kavala has an old and new port and town and beautiful Kastro (castle), whereas the town and prefecture of Florina to the west is known as the Land of the Lakes due to several picturesque lakes dotted around with small villages nestled within.
