Exeter & East Devon
The ancient cathedral city of Exeter has been Devon’s administrative centre since the Roman era. With a prestigious university, historic core and picturesque quayside, it’s an attractive city rich in culture and places to eat and drink.
To the south, the East Devon Coast stretches to Dorset, taking in a string of genteel resorts and pretty villages such as Branscombe and Beer.
The area offers some superb hikes and boat trips along the dramatic Jurassic Coast, a delightful Donkey Sanctuary, a unique cave system and Powderham Castle – an enchanting stately home.
